I love photographing families, being able to capture candid moments between everyone. Usually before the photoshoot I get a lot of questions about what to wear, where to shoot and what to bring. Â So here are a couple of suggestions to help you make the most out of your family shoots.
Clothes: Solid colors is always best. Stay away from strong patterns. It’s also good to mismatch colors. Not everyone in the family should wear one color like black. Mix in up, maybe black, white, blue and gray.
Props: A couple of props is great, just don’t over do it. You want the photographer to focus on your family and not so much on your props.
Young Children: Make sure to nap and feed them before the photoshoot, and maybe even bring a couple treats along the way. It also helps to bring something that makes them smile perhaps a stuffed animal or toy that way the photographer can hold it up.
Location: Pick somewhere that relates to your family. Something that you love or that your familiar with.
And most importantly, be yourself. Have fun, interact with one another and enjoy each other. The family below comes from an artsy background. I love the setting we choose for their photoshoot. It really brings out their personalities, it’s something they can relate too. Please enjoy and be sure to like us on Facebook and follow my personal account on Instagram for more fun images.
